(East Harlem, New York. April 13, 2012) New York Yankees First Baseman Mark Teixeira is launching the second year of his Dream Team campaign, which calls for fans to support his cause for East Harlem
charity Harlem RBI and DREAM Charter School. Last summer, the campaign brought nine lucky donors to visit Yankee Stadium for a game and dinner with Teixeira after donating a minimum of a $25 brick and
sharing their story through a short essay competition. In just five months, Dream Teamers raised more than $37,000 towards Harlem RBI and DREAM’s Capital Campaign.
The Dream Team campaign will help Harlem RBI and DREAM build a state-of-the-art facility for thechildren that the partner organizations serve each year. The groundbreaking project will include a 450-seat public charter school facility, a permanent home office for Harlem RBI, a community center for the neighborhood, 89 units of low-income housing and a renovated public park, and will serve as a model of
urban development in one of New York City’s toughest neighborhoods. Last year, Teixeira took the first step by making a $1 million donation to the campaign and launched Dream Team 25 to raise additional
funds and awareness for the project. Fans of the four-time Gold Glove Award winner will be able to take part in this exciting campaign by joining the Dream Team 25 online or via text.
